The Governor of Massachusetts has extended our “shelter in place” order to May 18th. Since our daily chart shows a graph line that has not leveled off but continues to soar, I fully expect the 18th to be extended to June 1st. We need 14 consecutive days of declining numbers to begin the process of returning to something resembling a real life.
“Sheltering in Place” has truly become a new way of life. Routines are important to me. I live, and work best with many habits and practices in place.
Isn’t it sinful to admit, my excitement for 4 days of the week is a visit to the grocery store. I replenish my fresh veggies and fruit with each “shopping fling.”
My workouts for the past six weeks have been 50 squats and now I’ve added 50 shoulder shrugs with the same weight on the hex bar. Squats create a whole new definition for “pain in the ass.” If you do squats, you’ll understand!!!
Of course, the highlight of every day is lunch with my son, Michael, and on occasion, Tammy joins us. I make healthy lunches and each day is a different menu.
“Sheltering in Place” does not mean hosting lunch, but this is the only rule I break. We stay 6’ apart…..no masks and no gloves in my house. Shoes come off at the door. Hands are sanitized.
It’s family!! My family breaks rules for family!!! I consider that a good routine.
