Water Restrictions go into Effect in Denver - May 1, 2020

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with House to Home, Inc. - Denver Real Estate - 720-231-6373 DRE# ER40011786

Although we have seen a lot of snow this year, and the drought factor is not as high as in past years.    Even with this news, the Denver metro area will be under restrictions for lawn watering starting May 1st.

~ Water your lawn no more than 3 days per week

~ No watering lawns during the hours of 10 am to 6 pm

~ No watering when it is raining or when experiencing high winds.

We are hoping next week brings some rain to the Denver metro area!

Good morning Joan Cox - I hope you get plenty of rain.  You certainly don't need drought in addition to COVID-19.

This is good information to share.

I guess we are lucky in Maryland to have had so much rain during the past month. We had a bountiful supply of April showers.

I wish more folks in the Denver area would realize it is high desert and plan gardens with that in mind. Less water used is just what the doctor ordered!

Those seem like sensible guidelines to follow.  I always wonder though how we have a shortage of water when 75% of the earth is water?

I wish we could give you some of our rain, seems like it has been raining a lot. Hope you get what you need and all those lawns can get a good soaking rain fall on them.

Paul, we still have a good snow pack too, but our government likes to error on the side of caution.

Jeff, I agree, and not plant foliage that requires too much water.

Hi Joan Cox - I remember water restrictions when I lived in CA.  In Sedona proper, we don't have water restrictions. Of course, most AZ homes have drought-resistant landscaping anyway.  Whether we have restrictions or not, we should remember that our water is a precious commodity.

Sheri, I agree with you Sheri, and if we don't need three days/week, we save on water usage also.

Hannah Williams Nick had said the area had seen LOTS of rain, but as you say --- wait until the May flowers.  Will be beautiful.   Hope you are doing well.
