Friday Photo: Once Upon a Family Compound--Now a Condo Complex!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

On our beach walks, we start our return walk at this point.  As you can see, (as legend has it)  this was originally built as a family compound for a Middle East potentate and his family.   After a brief stay by the family, it was sold to a developer who subdivided it into large condos.

The last time one was for sale (5 years ago) it was listed at $7million.   We have yet to see someone wandering or enjoying the courtyards in the 12 years we have lived here...

Happy Friday!

Very interesting Alexandra. Isn't it amazing how one huge property was once for a family and now divided into condos. Shows how different everyone lives...

Really? Doesn't sound odd that no one uses the property to walk around? hmmm

It seems that there is more money to be made from selling off the parts than selling something as a whole.

Such a shame that there may be wonderful views but they go unwanted or missed. I am always amazed how few people sit outside on their decks or patios. As soon as I can I am outside, morning, noon and night.

Nick Vandekar, 610-203-4543 It is a known fact around here, that the majority of those who live here are happy to sacrifice square footage for the great outdoor life style.  I think these may be second home owners.  We even eat our lunch outside on a sunny cold day.  If l lived there, I certainly would be out there most of the day, and even bring out the lap top...A

I would be outside all the time in the courtyard! Be careful if you do investigate, someone might be into nude sunbathing. Lol.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD it would not bother us in the least.  In Europe topless beaches are a familiar site, and we have a nude beach here.  The nudies hug the cliffs where it is warmer...Funny thought...LOL A

Hello Alexandra and Ron - I have also noticed some condo complexes where little or no activity seems to take place.  It's both a bit eerie as well as somewhat desirable --- often at the same time.

That's a fascinating history of that property, Alexandra.  I agree with the comment #14 left by Michael Jacobs .  It's both eerie as well as someewhat desirable!

We saw this on our boat rids along the Intracoastal waterway. Large (as in huge) mansions and you never saw anyone on the property.
