This Week...Emerging

This week marked the end of Stay-at-Home orders for the great state of Texas. You could feel it in the air that while everyone has been patient while practicing physical distancing...it’s time to slowly begin our emergence.

Help us to be ever faithful gardeners of the spirit, who know that without darkness nothing comes to birth, and without light nothing flowers. May Sarton

I have a feeling that if someone were observing us from space, we might look like butterflies beginning to emerge from our cocoons.

When I see a dancing butterfly,

When I see a half blooming flower,

Their eager wish to make this world happy,

My mind dances with joy,

My soul emerges in happiness.

 Debasish Mridha

Our emergence will be slow and everyone has a choice. If a restaurant chooses to open, they are limited to no more than 25% capacity and physical distancing guidelines must be observed.

Everything must break open in order to live. The seed must break open in order for the tree to grow. The egg must break open in order for life to emerge. The Earth must be turned and the cloud must burst. You were never meant to stay in your shell.  Thomas Lloyd Qualls

Masks and physical distancing are still encouraged. I was happy to see that the Walmart we went to for birdseed was still observing recommended guidelines.

Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light. Helen Keller

Let your true spirit emerge this weekend!

Kathy, I think everyone is ready to get out again, but with caution.   I know we have restaurants and retail shops opening just south of me, Douglas county has opened, with restrictions in place.

Hi Kathy Streib, I personally can not wait until the hair salons open back up. I was tempted to do it myself but know better. You've selected great quotes. Have a great weekend!

I agree Barbara Todaro I have a feeling that there will be many who choose to wait before dining out.

Grant Schneider at least it will be nice for you and Phyliss to have a change of scenery!!!!

Kat Palmiotti we noticed more people out walking even though the parks have been open.

I feel that way Nina Hollander And it's a good feeling...but doing it slowly.

Thank you Donald Urschalitz Hey...when we lived in Florida, it seemed as if we were always trimming and cutting something.

Michael Jacobs you know...part of that Texas Big Hair is a myth...at least down in Houston. The humidity wouldn't allow for it.

Wayne Martin I'll bet it will be!!!! Time for you to head to Florida.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD that's a very good question. Larry and I were wondering if this meant that our family could get together or not. I feel that everyone is still being cautious.  We took a bird feeder pole to my niece's house yesterday and stayed in the backyard and visited while Larry installed it. At least we got to see them.

Hi Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS I love the spring as well. It's so much fun seeing buds on trees and flowers starting to pop up.

Hi Doug Dawes thank you. I'm still seeing face masks and I spoke to a few people who are waiting before going out to a restaurant.

Thank you Roy Kelley We're staying close to home but just finished delivering freshly baked beer bread to a few people. Hope that you and Chef Dolores are well.

Joan Cox every area is different and you have to do what works. I know that salons are really feeling the pinch.

Oddly enough, I was wondering how I will feel once stay-at-home orders begin to lift here in California.  I think you aptly described it as a butterfly emerging from a cocoon!

Hi Kathy:

We started to see some changes last week with a few beaches opening in our County. And on May 4 some parks, trails and golf courses will open...of course with restrictions and precautions. Hopefully people will continue to be careful. But at the same time we also now have a new public health order requiring face masks as of May 1.

I won't be emerging any time soon.

If you are a Star Trek fan you will understand when I say I'm letting all the red shirts go out there into the world first.

I haven't ordered take out or done any curbside ordering from restaurants, I certainly won't be going inside any. LOL
