Are Your Ducks in Order Or Are They Still Quacking Around?
There have been many stories about businesses and what they are doing to try to reopen. Recently I read about two owners of similar businesses and it made me think about the age-old saying about ducks and having them in order.
Both owned salons with a medium-sized staff and had been open for many years. They were concerned for their business as well as their employees.
Salon Owner A was waiting for the word that salons could reopen. She was concerned about being able to get supplies once they were allowed to reopen. She was beginning to search and was having a hard time finding what she needed. Would her old clients return? How would she get her shop ready when she did open?
Salon Owner B knew what was in her inventory and had been in touch with her vendors as soon as she had to close. She continued to communicate with them just in case certain products were becoming scarce.
In addition, she’d increased her Instagram and Facebook presence to try to stay in touch with her clients.
She has been to her shop at least once a week to make sure that everything was being maintained.
You know where this is going….
Even though we may be in a Stay at Home mandate in our local community doesn’t mean that we can’t have a plan of attack for that time when business is back to usual.
I know that agents have been taking their Continuing Education classes as well as continuing their marketing as well.
Now is the time to design your plan of attack if you haven’t already. Anticipate how and what you will need to operate in the post quarantine business environment. It is even more important to continue your marketing. (see Barbara Todaro or Ron and Alexandra Seigel if you’re not sure how to market during this pandemic)
What additional supplies will you need? Are you ready to assure your clients that you’re absolutely ready for business?
What about you? Your ducks in order?
