I am a brand new real estate agent (since Jan '08), and new to Active Rain. I found this site through Jennifer Allen, who is a wonderful agent with lots of great information in her book "Sell with Soul".
I work along the Emerald Coast of Florida, specifically the Destin area. I look forward to serving this areas real estate needs. However, being new, I'm not quite sure how to go about getting the listings that everyone says I need to procure to survive in the real estate business. I have been working with buyers from leads on floor calls, and through my SOI (and thanks to my SOI have had my first sale), but have not had any luck with listings yet. I have set up my own website, done a postcard mailing blast to former friends and acquaintences in another state (we moved here 3 years ago from TN), and have invested in marketing tools such as Talking House.
Any ideas for marketing myself would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure that there are plenty of "seasoned", successful agents within the walls of Active Rain and I'd love to hear of some of the ways that you marketed yourself as a new agent.
