"Be thou the rainbow in the storms of life.
The evening beam that smiles the clouds away,
and tints tomorrow with prophet ray."
--- Lord Byron
My evening thoughts....
The mystical sound of storms at night give breath between the heavens and earth. Be not afraid. I welcome the rain. It's quiet now. Still. Yet, there is no rain. The time is 9:35 p.m. I'm alert. Thankful I got to see the painted sky outside my back door before nightfall.
Mother Nature must be naturally beautiful and all powerful. Yet, she can be gentle, kind, wicked, and unpredictable. I am guessing it will be a silent night with no thunderbolts or lightening. But I would never underestimate her power.
The news reports possible gusty winds and up to golf ball size hail. It's just a watch. I listen. I'm not threatened. I'm sheltered-in-place. I have a home. A roof over my head. I'm one of the lucky ones. Snug as a bug. But deep down inside I feel the dynamic energies rolling in the sky. It's funny that when it rains one draws inward where it's safe and dry. Still, deep inside I'm feeling immune because I've practiced the art of sheltering too long. I long to dance in the rain. To feel raindrops gently rolling down my back with hair that drips. Rain is a powerful cleansing. ---Patricia Feager
