May ActiveRain Challenge for Zoom Meetings...May 5

There are those who do not participate in contests or challenges for whatever reason. However, I want you to forget about points for a minute and consider what you can learn through your participation. Such is the case with this month’s challenge...May ActiveRain Challenge for Zoom Meetings.

This week, Zoom attendees got to hear and ask questions of Tammy Emineth and her husband Tim. You already know Tammy from her posts here on ActiveRain. Tim is CEO/Owner of Personal SEO.

zoom meeting may 5

There were up about 25 in attendance including Hannah Williams, Elyse Berman, PA, Debe Maxwell, CRS, Andrew Mooers | 207.532.6573, and Liz and Bill Spear (Bill).

So much was discussed but the key point I learned was that SEO and web design are probably not the same as when you created your web or began even thinking about SEO...unless you just started a few years ago.

We have learned a lot about SEO through the ActiveRain webinars and blogs but things have changed.

This figure made us all sit and say What did you say?

72...your daily goal of posts you publish.

What?

Tim said just consider posting twice as much as you are currently doing.

Word Count

Now, this has been one of those back and forth subjects for some time now. SEO powers that be like blogs with lots of words. But yes, you and I really don’t enjoy reading all that much, do we?!

But their suggestion was to revisit some of your shorter posts...maybe those that are around 250 words. Rewrite and retool them to create a post of 1000 words or more, keeping in mind that content does matter.

Ownership

If you can’t find a trustworthy host for your website, host it yourself.

Thank you Alan May for showing me how to change my name under my Zoom photo!

Finally, thank you, Jeffrey Richman, for hosting this challenge.

Hello Kathy - a good recap of the Cinco de Mayo ActiveRain meeting.  Were margaritas a part of the menu as it looks like Brian England was wearing his hat and sunglasses.   Just Kidding.  Haha.

Hey Kathy,
This is a nice recap of the meeting. Fun to see everyone that attended. I think I win the price for looking dorky on Zoom. Perhaps this is good. Hopefully, people will be pleasantly surprised if they meet me in person.  LOL

We were working on a CMA for our new client - he has 10 acre parcel to sell. I'm also not a huge fan of Zoom, but will give it a try when I can. Glad to see the good turn out. D

Very valuable info for those trying to get their posts noticed. We are lucky to have so much knowledge in this community...that is so willingly shared!

No more caring about SEO for me now that I'm retired.

I don't blog much now, but even when I did I just wasn't willing to write such long posts. I won't read them, so why would I write them?

Wayne Martin it was also fun to see everyone on Zoom.

Give it a try Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS You don't have to attend each time.

Barbara Todaro not for everyone. That's fine. We all enjoyed it and enjoyed seeing each other.

Donald Urschalitz try it next week.  It will be at 2 PM EST on Tuesday and you don't have to say anything if you don't want to. Here's the link.  If that' doesn't work, go to Jeffrey Richman's May Challenge post.

HI Nina Hollander I think you have to choose what works best for you.

Brian England you were doing something much more important, in my opinion.

Lyn Sims I kept scratching my head about that number. And I'm trying to grasp taking a comment and somehow creating a blog from it. I'm not doubting it but not sure exactly how you do it.

Hi Ron and Alexandra Seigel it was really one of the most informative events I've "attended" since back when Bob Stewart had the webinars on SEO.

Kat Palmiotti I haven't heard yet but I really did enjoy this one.

Hi Michael Jacobs when in Zoom ...everything stays in Zoom!  Just kidding.

Debb Janes EcoBroker and Bernie Stea JD Congrats on the new client!!!  I'm not really one to sit and chat but it's ok on occasion. This one was interesting because it was informative. I Zoomed with my cousins in CA and that was enough.
