I know reviews can be important to agents, home buyers and home sellers deciding which real estate agent to work with.
But reviews are something I'm not the best at asking for. Over the last couple of years I've tried to be more diligent about requesting reviews, but I recognize it's more about me than the client and I don't want to be a pest.
I'll send an email with a link to our Google My Business page and a link to Zillow. IMO those are the two sites most likely to have someone check us out for reviews. And once I send those requests I typically leave it at that. If I get a review, great! If not, maybe the next client will.
So today out of the blue I get an email notification of a new review posted on Z.
What made it a surprise? It was for a sale completed in July 2018. It may have taken a bit of time, but the fact the client moved out of state and still thought enough of our service to take care of us today? That's a nice feeling.
For this particular client, the road to closing wasn't QUITE as smooth as we'd have liked. After a purchase from a family member fell through, we were on a tight schedule to get the home sold so the seller could still get the house she was contracted to purchase out of state. We changed gears and went back on the market. First day back on the market, 6 showings yielded 5 offers and a contract that got everything back on schedule. From there, we got the smooth path we wanted!
