Youtube is an important channel in any digital marketer's plan for reaching the consumer. Many of us use the channel to promote properties, but the real value in Youtube is the ability to brand ourselves and gain trust with the consumer. Where else can we gain an audience that will watch and listen to us for minutes, hours, even days worth of video? The cost to acquire something like this on TV would be astronomical.
I have been working to improve my Youtube channel for the past month, and I've learned a lot and have a lot more yet to learn. Among my many goals is to learn techniques to get people to watch my videos for a greater duration, and to watch more of my videos.
Are You Embedding Videos In Your Blog?
One great way to do this is to embed videos in content. An even better method is to embed playlists instead of videos!
A playlist is a group of videos that plays in order, one video after the other. When one video finishes playing, the next starts automatically so you don't have to click or search to start playing a new video. Anybody who has a Youtube channel can create playlists.
So why is this important?
Why You Should Embed Playlists In Your Blog
If you embed a video, viewers watch the video and when it is over, Youtube recommends them a bunch of videos to watch next. Most (if not all) of the recommended videos won't be from your channel.
But if you embed a playlist instead of a video, your viewers see the first video on the playlist, and the second, the third, and so on. So instead of embedding a video with the hopes of getting a viewer to watch it, instead, embed a playlist with the hopes of getting viewers to watch several of your videos instead. Does that make sense?
You Asked, I Answer
In a recent post YouTube Video: How Long Is Too Long?, I addressed the fact that Youtube appears to be favoring longer videos (so long as they are engaging) and was curious what Rainers thought about the length of real estate videos. If you haven't checked it out, there is some great discussion about video length in the comments section of that post.
One of the comments came from Nina Hollander (#20 on the ActiveRain points list and a very active blogger). She was responding to another comment and wrote:
Well, I certainly am not the most advanced Youtuber here but I thought this would make a good learning opportunity for me as well, so I've produced the video below as my response to Nina.
Just as an aside, this is also my first post for Youtube Thursdays, a group on ActiveRain where I plan on learning a lot about video production for real estate.
How To Embed A Youtube PlayList Into A Blog Post
So that's all there is to it!
Since this is the first video on the playlist, I did add others so that I could demonstrate how the list of videos would stream through the embedded code. In the future when I've made more videos specifically for the ActiveRain playlist, they will be here and it will all make more sense.
Please remember to like and subscribe and comment (and like below), it really does help.
