210 E Vine Searcy AR going down Realtors bldg

210 E Vine....REALTORS'S home for 13 years.

Changes are coming to Searcy AR.  Big changes.  The newspaper reported demolition permits were given for 6 addresses near downtown Searcy.  First Security Bank seems to be planning a new complex and has bought many properties that are very close to the court square.  The above picture shows the Searcy Board of  REALTORS home for the past 13 or 14 years.  It was one of the purchases.  While moving we found a sign for Ed Bethune's law office.  He had his office here when he lived in Searcy.

511 N Main Searcy AR going down

511 N. Main......a charming older cottage.

This property has always been a charming home with a lovely front chimney.  It will be going down.  Others listed to be taken down right now are 504 N Spring, 500 N Spring, 104 E Vine, 106 E Vine.  Several of these are apartment buildings but I like the older homes with more history.  Others were purchased but were not listed for permits in the newspaper at this time.

It is going to be interesting to see changes that are on the way.  But for now just drive by these two, take a snapshot and save for historic purposes.

It isn't like First Security doesn't have UNUSED space. This is the reason I am looking to move from Searcy. Theu are always demolishing older buildings to put up something we DO NOT NEED more of....banks and churches!!!

Morning Barbara.

Is that a new photo of you I see?  Anyway, change is always moving in one way or another.  Got to learn to live with it.

Michael, that sounds strange and perhaps an unwelcome change.

Michael, change is necessary, and we are certainly seeing lots of it now.

Olivo, I suspect the same thing is going on in all places.  But it is nice to keep photographic memories of the old places.

James, that is a new OLD picture.  For some reason, activerain turns my used-to-be picture sideways every time I try to upload it.  I had forgotten all about this picture.  Thanks for noticing.
