Happy Mother's Day to all Mothers from my Flower Mound Garden. Daisies share the elemental power of fertility, nurturing light, and warmth. Isn't it wonderful that cross-pollination of flowers like daisies is provided by nature's beauties: butterflies, bees, birds, and the ever popular Texas green geckos.
Shasta Daisies grow nicely in a corner of my yard. They grow 3 feet by 2 feet in a sunny location in spring. I started out with three small plants several years ago and they pop up every year, spreading widely to present a giant bouquet of daisies. Mother's Day is always better when there are flowers! These simple, old-fashioned beauties never goes out of style.
As a gardener, it's fun to arrange your life with choices that makes you happy, such as flowers that bloom for all seasons. As humans, we are born to Mothers to know the world and to know ourselves. Daisies set a good example to give a good first impression. They are strong, like mothers, curious like children, and they attract good things into our lives. Daisies make good companions. Mature daisies gives radiance to a garden and adds more happiness to humans. I really, truly, honestly believe creation begins within the mother's soul and love perpetually grows ---Patricia Feager
