Email petitions do not count. I'm sure all of you have 'signed' email petitions thinking that they will help a worthy cause. You felt it was a quick way of getting your point across, registering your dislike or opinions, a way of making a change, being proactive or taking a stand. You figure it is the most expedient way of making things happen and supporting others in a joint quest for change. Some of us have 'signed' email petitions and sent them to our government representatives, gasoline companies, government agencies, etc. The fact of the matter....they count for nothing! They are not considered because there is no way of verifying who has 'signed' them. It's kind of like dead people voting, or stuffing ballot boxes with votes that are not legitimate. One person can create an infinite number of email addresses so it is understandable why your 'signature' on one of the email petitions is worthless. The email petitions are just another tool for companies to collect email addresses for advertising. Worse yet, they SELL your email addresses! The end result..... MORE JUNK MAIL in your inbox!
