Nina,
As expected that is what happens when a force majeure shows up.. And then we rebuild...it is part of life. A

Will Hamm hi Will... I knew it wasn't good, but didn't think we were doing worse than 2009. Let's hope for a faster recovery this time around.
Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... the underlying problem is that I could argue multiple scenarios of where this will go in coming months... all of the, equally well!
Nina,
What I have learned having lived through a major earthquake,a banking debacle, fires and storms, is that what matters most is how you handle it and come out. of it. Many will use it as an excuse/reason to justify their existence...others will just continue to thrive...which is one reason I don't pay attention to every thing people predict or carry on about.....A

Hello Nina - I knew that the Charlotte area you serve was large but I didn't realize it included 16 counties in the region. Despite many challenges, you represent area real estate well with experience, proven results and local knowlege that makes your practice one that is important for those interested in making a move. This property-by-property approach is people-oriented.

Ron and Alexandra Seigel hi Alexandra... I'm from the same school of thought as you. But clients are asking for opinions and advice and we can't shy away from honest discussions with them... at the same time I don't want to confuse or frighten them.
Michael Jacobs hi Michael... we are a huge metro region in two states, no less. I normally just focus on the four counties where I do most of my sales. But I also sell in several other adjoining counties. It's a lot of information to keep track of for clients.

Brian England hi Brian... we can only hope. On the good news side, demand for homes remains strong... now we just need inventory to support the demand.

Nina slow sales are going to continue if we don't open things back up again. I understand the need to take precautions with the COVID-19 Virus, but we are going to start many casualties if we continue with this shutdown, and Real Estate will feel the impact for sure.
George Souto hi George... you are spot on. Right now sales have been down due to showing restrictions and people staying at home. But if the economy doesn't open up sales will stay down for a totally different reason.
I Love how you mention "What it means for you" Nina Hollander . It is similar here

Morning Nina.
Things were going great until the first of March. Now, things are starting to pick up again, but slow.

Scott Godzyk Thanks, Scott... I suspect many of our markets are very similar in terms of April sales results.
Myrl Jeffcoat good morning, Myrl... right now, buyers and sellers should not be making life-altering decisions without facts.
Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS you and me both, Paul. 2009 was a very difficult year. Happy Friday and weekend-to-come to you!
James Dray hi James, we actually had a good March here and with the strong first quarter showing we are year-to-date in a relatively positive situation. But if May number don't turn around after such a bad April, year-to-date numbers will also start slipping.
Good morning Nina. As we read reports from all over the country the one thing I am sure of is we will survive. Enjoy your day!

Wayne Martin good morning, Wayne... I've always known we would survive... this issue is explaining to our clients just how and when.
Nina, I would think that all markets are feeling this same challenge. It's good that you are keeping track of these reports for the consumers knowledge, but it will get better!

Lawrence "Larry" & Sheila Agranoff. Cell: 631-805-4400 hi Sheila and Larry... it has to get better... otherwise we are really in a big hole. And I don't want to "go there" in terms of my thinking.
I like your approach, Nina Hollander ... concise, precise, factual. People must be educated and have the facts to make sound decisions. With your market reports, you assist them in each.

Good Friday afternoon, Nina. Have a nice evening and a very special weekend.
Hi Nina:
It's always interesting to read about what's going on in other parts of the country, especially those markets that have been really busy. We have also seen drops in sales from last month and a year ago in some communities.
Jeff
Hi Nina, while your reports are really great and informative, the bottom line is that life must go on and people have to move for various reasons. The folks that are retiring have to sell. The people who just moved into the area have to buy. Many are fleeing the great cities to smaller rural areas at this time. People who have planned their dream home are not going to be deterred, maybe slightly delayed at most! Things WILL get better and we all have to hang in there and keep up what we do normally. Thanks!
This year used home sellers are very limited. The investment home buyers are non-existant as many can not collect or evict tenants. I have new home buyers.
Roy Kelley good morning, Roy... thank you for the good wishes. I'm busy this weekend putting the finishing touches on a new listing that comes on market next week.
Jeff Dowler, CRS hi Jeff... part of our drop in sales was due to inability to show homes during March and April. Another part and it's continuing to haunt us the the lack of inventory.
John Henry, Florida Architect good morning, John... no doubt that there will always be people who have to move and those moves are probably just delayed. But there are also quite a few who don't need to sell and trade up... and they are taking a back seat for now... I've got a few clients like that myself.
Sam Shueh hi Sam... our market has been short on resale inventory for years... the pandemic only exacerbated the problem. As for investment buyers, in our market right now it's often less to do with one's options with tenants as more to do with the fact that continuing price increase don't let the investment pencil out.
Hello Nina, Great report from you again from your area. Now we need to get the figures headed back up again. Make it a good one but stay safe.
