Vacant or Virtual
If you are ready to sell and your house is ready to be sold, now is the time to move forward.
Real estate is happening using safety, precaution, and common sense. Adaptable agents are working with buyers and sellers. So much can be accomplished with the aid of our phones and computers.
Buyers are buying!
There are safe and efficient ways to show homes.
Vacant or virtual.
First, decide if you want to sell -- this is NOT the time to test the waters. If you don't want people in your house, do everyone a favor and please take it off the market.
But if you do want to sell ...
Make your home easy to show. Stay until the buyers show up and then leave. Or have the house unlocked for easy access with a code or lockbox.
Have all the lights on and shades and window coverings open—open interior doors and closets. (Nothing about this has changed.)
Everyone will have safety items but go ahead and provide individually sealed bags with a mask and gloves. No excuse if someone forgets a mask.
Have a trash receptacle outside to discard these used items or ask the people to take them when they leave.
No more than three people in a property
...does not matter if there are twelve who will be living in that residence.
For right now, with SIP in Maryland, this is the rule we follow.
Leave the kids at home or in the car with supervision. No children.
Do not make unnecessary appointments!
Use common sense.
Don't even consider showing a home if that person is not ready to purchase today. Today is absolutely no time for window shopping!
