CPR
Something weighing heavily on my mind since the Corona Virus outbreak is what happens when someone needs CPR? The main reason for my concern is because of personal experience. Today, my mind was put at ease when I saw this video from the Fort Worth Fire Department demonstrating the "new medical devices for EMT to better serve the public and protect the Fire Fighters" amid the pandemic. Please click on the link above to see the new way to save lives!!! This is a HUGE improvement rather than going mouth-to-mouth. The fact that there's a video going inside the victim to better improve survival is very promising and exciting!
DENTIST
Yesterday, I had my first dental appointment since COVID-19. The most stressful part of it was the scheduling, rescheduling, and waiting inside my car until I was called to come into the Dental Office. My hygienist explained to me that all dentists are getting instructions and procedures from various sources that they must adhere to before opening. A few of the chains of command she explained included the ADA, Texas Dental Association, CDC, Department of Health and Safety, the Governor of Texas Office, and many more protocols coming down the pipeline from other authorities. Plus, she explained everything new they have to do before she started.
MASKS
It is mandatory to wear masks in North Dallas Metroplex. As I was sitting in my car waiting for my phone call to come into the Dental Office I noticed fashion trends for many different masks. It seems as if some mask bore a logo or a branding on the mouth. I saw lots of competition and fashion trends! There were restaurants and places that had ATM machines. I must admit, some of the masks I saw made me uncomfortable.
FARMER'S MARKET
Fresh Strawberries from California and local peaches are in season now. I have to say, they are the best I've tasted in a long, long time! The Farmer's Market in Grapevine also has chicken or beef broth. I have purchased the chicken broth and it's much fresher and tastier than anything coming out of a carton on the grocery store shelves. The celery is large and crunchy. Herbs are delicious! Staff superb customer service!
THOUGHTS FOR TODAY
We are moving into and out of isolation gradually. Our souls are yearning for normalcy. Away from chaos. Confusion. Different people are handling things differently. Countless individuals are creating new ideas. Many will be tested. Many lives will be saved. Changed. We are exposed. Although we are moving away from touching it's okay to leave fingerprints on the hearts as if it were a warm and welcoming touch.
Today is a rainy day in Flower Mound. Like in Rome, Italy we are all on stage. The doctors. Nurses. EMT. Governors. President. Neighbors. Our communities. We are all playing a role to get through this pandemic. Masks, gowns, and gloves are the new fashion. New acts shall follow. In memory of William Shakespeare remember: "The quality of mercy is not strained; it dropeth as the gentle rain from heaven; upon the place beneath; it is twice blessed; it blesseth him that giveth and him that takes."
We are all on stage playing our part ---Patricia Feager
