Maui is closed to tourists for the most part - stay home!

While you might be able to book a cheap flight to Maui, it's not going to be the vacation of your dreams right now.  Visitors are being ordered to stay in quarantine for 14 days upon landing, and there can be severe consequenses.  You might be put on the next flight back out of here, or you might be put in jail!  Yes - JAIL.

But the good news is that Maui has opened up a lot more since the lock down.  There is only 1 hospitalized patient with the virus right now.  No new cases on Maui in over a week.

So we don't really know when things will open up completely for tourism again.  Our economy depends on the visitor industry, and you can bet we will be doing everything we can to get those visitors back, but we want to things to be safe first.  Thanks for your understanding and patience!

Hi Georgie:

We were aware of the 14-day quarantine. Our daughter and her family were going to Ka'anapali have now canceled. Who wants to fly all the way to Maui and not be able to do anything? So hard for their economy I'm sure.

Love the photos - we stayed at the Wailea Beach Resort last year for a night and have been to the Andaz for dinner a couple of times - we usually are up at Ka'anapali when we visit.

Paul S. Henderson, REALTOR®, CRS Since they change the rules often, I won't be surprised if the quarantine goes on until the end of June.  We are enjoying staying home, and when we go out it's refreshing to see the emptier roads.

Georgie Hunter R(S) 58089 - Sad to hear the news out of Maui. It seems to be a familiar tune with travelers to other destinations too. It's a shame that airlines are collecting fees and booking reservations at this time and risky for travelers too. It's even harder to believe an entire major tourist destination is shut down all because one patient is hospitalized.
