A father's presence is irreplaceable.
In my home growing up, and even with my husband now, dad represents the quiet, calm support when we need a steady hand. The rock that we can lean on no matter what.
So, let's show dad how much he means to us on this day.
Here are three ways to give dad the love and recognition he deserves on Father's Day.
Don't let the day pass by without spoiling dad or grandpa with some fun! Try one of these activities to make the ordinary special:
- Bring dad breakfast in bed
- Go fishing
- Get take out to dad's favorite restaurant
- Take a picnic to a park & go on a day hike
- Try a fun new cocktail, beer, or wine
- Take a family photo (try your phone timer)
- Eat dad's favorite dessert
- Take a family bike ride
- Let dad pick the entertainment for the day
Give a Thoughtful Gift
You don't have to spend much money to make dad feel special.
Try a handmade card detailing exactly what you love about the steady man. Or give him a small gift associated with an interest of his like sports, fishing, or barbecue.

Gift Dad Time
Finally, give dad the gift of time.
That could mean doing the activities above, mowing the lawn for him, or gifting him time alone.
Like moms, dad's need their own alone time to explore their interests. Father's Day is the perfect time to gift him a dash of independence.
Something to Consider
Above all else, be sure to tell dad and grandpa how much you love them. Dads are a precious piece to the family puzzle and they deserve to know that often.
