This week's Zoom call was both enlightening and informative. Our Keynote Speaker this week was Kathy Streib who espoused to us many good insights on what should or could be done to help you with getting more sales out of your listed homes as well as what might be done to make you more comfortable staying at home right now.
There were many people that have been on the call old and new, including, Brian England (who was on his phone handing out food), Jeff Dowler, CRS, Debe Maxwell, CRS , Elyse Berman, PA, Thomas J. Nelson, Realtor e-Pro, CRS, RCS-D, Vets and more.
During this troubling time and you're stuck at home, you may want to use your home office more and make it more comfortable for you. She also mentions setting up your kitchen to be more 'friendly' because you're going to be sheltering in place more.
Kathy also talked a great deal about virtual staging and using furniture minimally. If you aren't going to use virtual staging, but are going to stage the house, use appropriate furniture for the price point of the house. What she means by this is don't use furniture from a lower end store for a higher priced house, it cheapens it and hurts you in the long run.
When it comes to staging a kitchen, perhaps you want to use something that is or may be familiar to the potential buyer such as showing pasta in see thru containers and pasta cook books.
Kathy very much likes certain Apps too that could help your potential buyers see what they normally can't, like Paint Harmony and HomeStyler. She likes Color Snap as well.
Many questions were asked by Eileen Burns, which were excellent and really helped the conversation flowing.
One take-away was that someone needs to get rid of some of their things and that less is more.
