168”. What are you doing with yours?
If there was anything in the world where we can honestly say is “universal”. It would be 168. Some of you may be aware of what I’m getting at and some may think where is he going with this? It’s called time. Yes the thing that occurs every single day in each of our lives. We have no control over it but we follow it whether we want to or not.
Have you ever heard of the phrase that “time heals all wounds” OR “time doesn’t wait for anyone” OR “there’s always time” to do this or that. Everyone has heard it and most have used a phrase or 2 themselves. But the one thing we cannot do is control it. Everyone has 168 hours in their week (or 10,080 minutes for those who choose to break it down even more).
Some of us just “waste” our time. Others are looking for the “best uses” of time and some of us just sit and wait while time “passes”. From the person who has everything to the person who doesn’t my question is what are we doing with ours? Even in the midst of this pandemic (universal) we have “more” time to do some of the things that are on our lists and we can “spend” more time in doing things that benefit others. I have taken to “spending” time with a young man who is into wholesaling. I met him thru social media and he had some very intelligent questions to things he was not aware of.
We have weekly Zoom meetings to catch up on the week’s events in his life business and at times personal. It’s heartwarming to see someone hanging on your every word and soaking up the wisdom that you are pouring into them. Also this past week I gained another “mentee” thru social media channels and it looks like he may come on board also to be mentored AND a realtor.
For so many years I wasted so much of my “168” on things that didn’t benefit me OR anyone else. Now that I’m older time seems to have much more value. Hopefully we will come to a place in our lives where we decide not to feel threatened by giving out our knowledge and wisdom to help someone to better themselves. This way we could see the “fruit” from the seeds that we have planted in them. So as you go about your day ask yourself the question. What are you doing with your “168”?
