Almost Wordless Wednesday: Quincy's New Find!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants DRE00893924

Quincy left this critter by our door recently.  This is a green tomato hookworm...It loves to eat tomato plants, and it knows how to blend in.  Fortunately, we are not growing tomatoes at this point...but our neighbor two doors down has some magnificent tomato plants.  Ron re homed this worm way. way beyond neighbors property lines in the salt marsh reserves...

Myrl Jeffcoat I thought the worm was dead, but Ron thought otherwise...and good boy Quincy indeed, otherwise Meg my neighbor would not have shared her tomatoes with us...LOL A

We used to collect those from my Auntie's tomato garden when we were kids. We were both fascinated with the color and scared of the hook!

Hats off to Quincy, Alexandra! That's quite an interesting looking creature. Not sure how I'd react if I saw it first-hand.

They look cool, but they can be destructive.  That was nice of Quincy not to smush him, haha.

Thanks for the lesson on the identification of a tomato hookworm.

We have not planted any tomatoes this season since we have not been shopping for plants.

Roy Kelley nor have we.  Last time I planted a tomato is when we were living on the hill, and I watched as a gopher ate the roots and tomato plant sagged down into his tunnel.  LOL A
