It's been beautiful weather here along Lake Arrowhead with little to no precipitation and we are loving it. Spring has definitely sprung. While the weather has been nice, I've been outside completing some cool little DIY projects to spruce up the yard. My grands love colorful things, as do I, so it has been the perfect opportunity to get out the paintbrushes and paint or repaint some yard accents I've had hanging around.
I had a lot of fun painting these cut logs and placing them down the drive. They are bright, colorful and fun and add a little something extra.
Our poor old door certainly needed a face lift. I was able to repaint it and freshen it up a bit. I love the red and it blends well against the blue of our house and all the other colorful things I have been painting lately.
I think this was a favorite. I turned this old wood wishing well into a colorful plant/flower holder and I couldn't be happier with how it turned it. It matches the colors around our property and brightens things up while adding some contrast.
I absolutely love our completed projects and it helped pass the time during this shelter in place. I love making over old things and making them new again. When the grand-kids finally get to come and spend some time with us again (when it's safe) they will love all the cheerful and playful colors.
I'm a firm believer in re-doing, fixing and making do with what you have. I think we throw too much stuff away and don't tap into our creativity to turn old dull or worn pieces into something new.
Have you completed any new projects during shelter in place? I'd love to hear about them. Thankfully, California is slowly starting to reopen and we should all be back to business as usual soon. While safety measures will still remain in effect, it'll be nice to see everyone's smiling faces again!
