Water World will not Open this Season in Denver

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with House to Home, Inc. - Denver Real Estate - 720-231-6373 DRE# ER40011786

Our largest family and first publicly-owned water park (Water World)  in the Denver metro area will not open for the 2020 summer season.   It was determined there was no way to social distance (and for sure not wear a mask) and enjoy the sun and water during the summer to keep everyone safe.  With over 70 acres, they thought of safety and sanitation for the entire park.

In past years, they have shoveled snow and still gotten the park open for guests, but this year they struggled with the Coronavirus still among us.   This is tough, as they employ 800 employees every season, and now they all have to find another job.

Some of the local pools around the Denver metro area are still working on the details to try and open for the season.

Jeff, I agree, and I personally would not want to work with the public in masses right now.

Hi Joan... I'm sure there's a lot of disappointed kids out there today. I was just thinking about our Carowinds Park the other day when I drove by. No news yet as to its opening or not... and it's packed, packed, packed during spring and summer season normally.

Roy, and I hope they stay in business.  One full year of no business could put a business out of business.

Nina, so is Water World, and people flock there all summer long.  Just sad.

What a shame for this business and the employees. I have a feeling this will happen to a lot of great companies.

I'm guessing it would be tough to try to manage social distancing at one of these venues. It is sad though, sure is unbelievable how quickly life has changed.

That looks like a fun place to spend the summer so it is very sad that it will not open up for the summer this year.

Joan Cox this is one year that will go down in history as a historical milestone. I never thought a year to dwarf Sept 11, 2001 would occur less than 20 years later.
