The title of a book " The Search for a Community on an American Street: One Sleepover at a Time" (Peter Lovenheim, Author) caught my attention this morning in a newsletter I receive from Zocalo Public Square, an ASU organization in Los Angeles. This journalistic site, which I had enjoyed tremendously over the years, has started an annual book award, and the selected book is its first award.
Zocalo Public Square's mission is connecting people to ideas and to each other. Over the years I have attended many thought-provoking events they organized in the Tempe/Phoenix area - the idea of live journalism is very appealing to me, and they produced quality events with engaging speakers and discussions. The discussed topics are memorable, I did connect with people and we have remained friends ever since.
