Strangers peeking in your bathroom drawers, spilling juice on the fluffy carpet in the living room, and destroying the roses in the garden. You want to sell it, and an open house event can draw the right buyers, but you need to prevent a horror movie from happening before they arrive.

In most cases, the old trick of presenting the house to possible buyers works. But to bring the right investor to the table and spark interest in your event, you need to invest time and effort to plan the event. We put together some expert tips to help you host an open house event that attracts buyers in 2020

Partner with local brands to plan an in-house sale event

Parties and real estate work together. Many real estate agents leverage the power of booze and product sales to promote properties. And if you think about, it makes perfect sense.

You can organize an exclusive launch party where people buy online tickets and can also purchase products from local retailers. Organize the online ticket sales to provide your guests with tickets for your event. We recommend using an online tool that specializes in creating tickets for events and organizations.

Give guests floor plans, cookies and HOA information

When people attend parties, they expect special treatment, and cookies cheer them up, especially if they are home-made. Put the cookies in the kitchen to add a personal touch to the house. Also, make sure that people can take printed floor plans at the entrance, so they can walk around and inspect the rooms that interest them. It would be wise also to have FAQ sheets and HOA information that provide details about the building and rental restrictions.

Use Instastories to promote the open house event

Do you have a broad public on Instagram? Use your social media profiles to promote the open house event and reach potential buyers.

Use Instagram Stories and Facebook live to spread the word and invite people to join you. Schedule the live event on Facebook, and pick a cool name for the subject, like Showing a breath-taking suburbs house at 10 pm”.

Use a tool to virtually decorate the house with different furniture

If the house is empty, you can help possible buyers to picture how it would look once they bring their favorite items. Most people find it challenging to visualize their belongings in an empty house, so offer visitors staged images with different styles of furniture.

Make an album with 20 different styles that would suit the property and place it at the entrance. Or send them the staged images on email to check them at home.

Most of the apps that allow you to modify pictures dont cost more than $5, but they can make the difference.

During the open house event, leave the house and let the real estate agent work. The guests find more at ease to inspect the place when there is no homeowner to supervise them.
