And As May Draws To A Close
Some Random Thoughts
It's May 26 and although this month still has days left to experience, it is definitely inching its way towards June. Each month is comprised of many special days and events which range from obscure to commonly known.
My email inbox has reminded me on more than one occasion that May is American Stroke Month - likely not one of the more widely celebrated in May. I guess that makes me special in some ways but as Groucho Marx allegedly said in reference to something entirely different: I refuse to join a club who would have me as a member. I digress.
It's also the month where Mothers have a special day the second Sunday of the month but hopefully are celebrated more often.
Ditto for nurses who are honored with a day of significance on May 6 where this year the honor reached out to them and others with an embrace which included appropriate distancing but nonetheless was special. Mind you, this is not just a day but a culmination of a week that ends on day when Florence Nightingale was born.
It's also a month where National Smile Day is celebrated on May 31. And that seems like a good place to end any month or begin any day.
