How to Wake Up With Massive Energy

The difference between seizing the day and slogging through it starts right when we open our eyes. At that moment, you set the tone for what is to come.

Will it be massive energy and impact?

Yes! It will because we know the key elements to a morning start that pumps you up for the day ahead. Making you the courageous needle mover you need to be. 


Here are eight ways to start the day with massive energy.


1. Go to Bed Earlier

The obvious answer, is always sleeping.

We need a quality seven hours or more to function at our best when that alarm clock hits. Above all, if your energy lacks in the morning better sleep needs to be the first solution. Going to bed even fifteen to thirty minutes earlier can make a difference. Additionally, how you spend your last hour matters. Turn down the lights and put your technology away to get your body prepped for a blissful night ahead.


2. Start With Exercise

We may not think to start with this, but moving our bodies first thing changes our physiology in a big way. If we begin the day with a brisk walk or a set of push-ups we're signaling to our bodies that it's time to get going and get fired up. Exercise is a huge producer of energy, so take advantage early in the day.


3. Finish the Shower With Cold Water

Finishing your warm shower with cold water stimulates your body and circulatory system. In turn, this gears you up to accomplish and gives you boundless energy to bring to the day. 


4. Eat High Energy Foods

Instead of reaching for something that makes you tired, eat high energy foods for breakfast. These foods include bananas, sweet potatoes, and eggs. Importantly, these foods also keep you from teetering back and forth with sugar highs and lows.

5. Play Energizing Music

Pump yourself up with your favorite jams and get your body rocking to the beat. Just make sure it has an upbeat rhythm.


6. Try Affirmations

Need a little help getting into the high energy habit?

Every morning for sixty seconds repeat this phrase from the "Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" - "I am disciplined. I am energized. I am inspired."

Say it with gusto and emotion. Before you know it, you'll feel that way too.


7. Get Sunlight

Wake up your body by showing it daylight. Our natural rhythms depend a lot on the sun, so get out in the sunlight as early as possible to get your body moving in the right direction.


8. Use Caffeine in Moderation

Finally, caffeine is not evil. It simply needs to be used with caution. One cup of coffee will give you a little umph. But if a pot a day is your current state, you're creating an energy low when that wears off. Additionally, if you drink too late in the day, you're likely affecting your quality of sleep as well. So, use caffeine to your benefit, but beware the energy risks.

These eight simple tips can transform your mornings and help you attack the day. You'll be healthier, happier, and more impactful on a daily basis.

Thank you for the good advice Jennifer Kropf . I do several of these things but there are a few I could/should add. BTW, as far as #8 I've learned to limit myself to 2 pots a day .
