On May 26, 2020, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Census Bureau reported nationwide new single family home sales up 0.6% to an annual rate of 623,000 homes in April of 2020 from 619,000 homes in March of 2020, but dropped 6.2% from in April of 2019 an annual rate of 664,000 homes.
The median new home sold value was $309,900, while the average sales price was $364,500 in April of 2020. There were estimated 325,000 new houses for sale, and 6.3 months supplies of available inventory at the end of April of 2020.
