Pools in Montgomery County, MD Remain Closed

Pre-opening Inspections Permitted Now

poolsclosed

As Montgomery County officials begin to reopen some businesses June 1, officials urge operators of public and private community pools to plan and schedule pre-opening inspections now. Although a specific date has not been set, swimming pools will reopen with limitations during Phase 2 of the County’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan. The County’s seven public outdoor pools will follow similar guidance.

Based on guidelines from the Maryland Department of Health, when outdoor pools open there will be restrictions on the maximum number of patrons allowed, which will be determined by the size of the pool. There also will be other restrictions.

Good morning, Roy... in North and South Carolina public pools can be open with distancing restrictions... how many are actually open is not something I've followed since I don't use them.

HOA associations have discretion over their own pools... ours opens this weekend with restrictions... but in 14 years I've never used it so don't know how they'll manage the distancing restrictions.

Roy,

Given the amount of chlorine used in a public pool, I do not see why they are closed.  Social distancing I can understand...A

Roy, I know our large water park will not open this year, but thinking the neighborhood pools may, we shall see.
