So Much Excitement This Past Week, I Can Hardly Stand It!

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker Realty

Nothing like a little pandemic to make one appreciate things so often taken for granted in our "normal" lives.  My life this past week provided excitement beyond my wildest expectations!

First, our younger daughter, Carol, came to town from Colorado for a quick 48 hour visit. How exciting to have company!

Second, Carol and I went shopping at Marshall's/Home Goods for an hour. We didn't buy anything major... I bought some birthday cards for upcoming birthdays and a new leash for Bingo. Carol bought a pair of shoes. But just the idea of being able to go out and do some shopping like "normal people" was excitement in and of itself.

On Tuesday, I actually managed to get my hair cut... my first haircut in almost five months! Truly a red letter day. As I've said to some people... I've felt like a new woman all week and five pounds lighter!

Today, I went out and personally showed a home to long-standing clients! After so many weeks of being considered "non-essential" it was wonderful to get out and be "essential." And even better to see and catch up with some of my favorite clients. I've often said that after 26+ years in this business I never needed to see or show another home again... I'm eating my words today.

I just can't imagine how this coming week could be more exciting... well... maybe if my nail place opens this week and I can get a mani/pedi before the week is out I'll truly be in heaven. Then, of course, there's still the excitement of eating out at a restaurant to come.

Here's wishing all a new week so full of excitement you won't be able to stay calm because you're so freaking excited!

So excite I can't keep calm

Hi Nina Hollander - Your first sentence says it all. I am sure the biggest highlight was getting your hair done.

I was so surprised how just about every state had a myriad of different rules.

Between me and my husband, we were able to manage everything ok.

The first two weeks it was slow so I spent the time calling everyone I could just to find out how they were doing.  It was not business-related. The calls were out of concern for clients and friend's health. I enjoyed this the most along with gardening.  Real estate was never shut down in Arizona.

Good Evening Nina Hollander

When we go without the things that make our individual worlds "normal" we gain new appreciation and excitement for those activities. It must have been great to see your daughter and spend time with her. The excitement around a haircut brings near ecstasy...lol

The whole thing of being labeled "essential or non-essential" is ridiculous. I hope people reassess the government and the potential for power abuses. Our freedom(s), can all change quickly.

I'm so happy for you; your excitement was palpable in the post.

I can't get a hair cut for at least another 6 weeks (July 13) but today my family--6 of us and 2 dogs--met at a remote part of the Presidio for a well-distanced picnic lunch celebrating Gene's and my daughter Susan's birthdays. I've been excited about this all weekend!! No hugs, no kisses, but lots of laughs and fun walks, and delicious food.

This celebration will go down in our family history,  "remember the year...."

Hi Nina Hollander
What could be better than a visit from your daughter AND going shopping with her, then getting your haircut?  You do lead an exciting life. Honestly, I'd be excited just to get a haircut.  LOL

I'll look forward to hearing about what excitement you find this week.

Sounds like fun times! It's interesting how exciting small things can be when you have had to forgo them. So what's next? Will this week top last week?!
