Monday Edition 6/1/2020 - Is It Time To Move?

By
Real Estate Agent with DFW FINE PROPERTIES 0506509

A soloist started singing outside my window about 5:25 a.m. The sound fills my heart with joy. In the background, I hear other birds. They are not afraid of competition. Nor am I! Life is good when there is harmony and things flow as they should. It's refreshing when you know you're ready for change.

Even when memories are old, one can feel rejuvenated. Judging by the photograph, the year must have been 1987. The girl standing second to the left in the top row is my daughter. I am sitting in the front row, second from the left. The photo was taken at Wyonegonic Camps in Denmark, Maine. I can still see Mickey Mouse on the shirt my daughter wore that day and my gold watch. Time goes by quickly. Kids grow up. Parents become Empty Nestor's and it's the perfect time to move. Letting things go and starting over encourages children. It's the law of nature. Give yourself permission to move on and begin a new adventure. These stories, whether in old photographs or in writing are a simple tale told; the life history of ordinary people.

There are 12 new listings in Flower Mound, 75028 and 8 coming soon. The photo to the left is the last property I sold in this Zip Code. Sellers are now putting their homes on the market. Buyers are out there! I'm ready, willing and able to list if Sellers are too. If there is one thing I know for sure, putting a house on the market seems to accelerate time! Let's not wait for change, let's make it happen! ---Patricia Feager

Good Morning Patricia Feager, MBA, CRS, GRI,MRP

There is much to unpack in your post. Lately, I've been reviewing life, and being reminded TIME stops for no one! I had a revelation this weekend as I realized one of my fellow Board of Selectmen is younger than our oldest son...Holy Smoke, how did that happen?

Hello Patricia - this is an interesting way to prompt thinking of change.  In location and beyond.   Everyone needs to live somewhere and it's better when that's a "happy" place.

Doug Dawes - I know the feeling. I had that revelation when all doctors (medical, dentists, eye doctors) started looking so young. The most embarrassing thing happened last year when a former client of mine didn't have anyone to take her to the hospital and stay with her until after surgery because she had breast cancer. When they called my name and I had to wait inside a private room to wait for the doctor, a very young girl was sitting in the chair at the table. I apologized, thinking I was in the wrong room. She asked me who I was, so I told her. Then she introduced herself to me as my friend's surgeon!!!

Time definitely stops for no one and professionals keep emerging surprising us with their younger faces and incredible skills. We just have to grin and bear it.

Being woken by birds singing is a wonderful thing.  I have been woken by cats fighting before and that is not such a wonderful thing, haha.  I love the picture you shared of your family, such beautiful people!

Brian England - Thanks! The only family in that photo are me and my daughter. The back row are campers from the girls camp and the boys. In the front row are Camp Counselors and myself. I was Staff working there. But everyone did feel like family!!!

Yes!!! I love to be woken up by birds. I don't recall hearing a cat fight. That would make me jump out of bed!

Hi Patricia,
The birds seem to be particularly chirpy these days. Perhaps things are going well in their world.  Having lost most of my close family when I was young, old photos bring me a sense of comfort and connection.  Time does march on.

Carol Williams -  I just love the sound of birds and all that we receive in nature. I have lost many family members and friends throughout my life. Blood relatives are part of our DNA. A loving spouse is the love of your life. If one doesn’t remarry, that love is eternal. My oldest sister was lucky to be in love twice. She is with a new man who never replaced her first true love, and respectfully, they get along great because he understands. His first true love and wife also died. I wish people would stop thinking people who are widowed and never remarry live in the past. I chose not to remarry and it doesn't mean I live in the past. That really, really, really bothers me to be judged so cruely. Especially when I spend my life listening to couple stories about gifts they give and receive, vacations, etc. Single people have lives too! And I love my single life. I have a feeling, you do too.

What a good neighborhood post Patricia!  A touch of personal with a touch of class and birds chirping too! Gotta love that!  You'll appreciate this.....I just walked in the house and saw a very tiny bunny running for cover under a plant. So tiny! The baby birds from our front porch have flown the coop and I saw one playing in the back.  Life goes on and changes happens!  Enjoying the little things in life makes it all so worthwhile, doesn't it! Nice talking with you this morning!

Awe... I do love your story, Anna Banana Kruchten Arizona's Top Banana! I love wildlife, so much! They are part of our community, our homes, society, culture, and the world in which we live. A millions+ children grew up with pets and caring for animals on farms and ranches. Service dogs are a tremendous blessing to those in need, including people who were treated like dogs often find companionship with dogs who provide unconditional love. I'm convinced the reason why the traditional Easter Bunny exists is because it teaches us how important pro-life and reproduction is and how gentle these creatures are. They actually taught me how to run fast in the woods and trails when I was a runner and squirrels taught me to hide behind trees when I was a skinny kid playing hide-n-go-seek! I believe in enjoying "the little things in life," because of the rich rewards you get for free!

You were my favorite person to talk to this morning. Thank you, for taking my call and reaching out to me today.

Love the photo and the walk down memory lane with you. And yes, empty nestors do often need a new adventure - in a new home. You would be the one to help them find it.

Patricia

I love reading your posts and the many comments you always get. You are becoming one of the souls of AR and of the many who linger here, reaching out for a bit of human touch.

I just moved in my current unit on February 25th just before the chaos truly hit. Was an adventure to do so after 34 years in my previous home.

I do have one suggestion about this age thing. Just be the oldest fart in the room and everyone looks younger. I know not the best point of view but heck, it is what it is. cheers cvc
