"The dog lives for the day, the hour, even the moment."
- Robert Falcon Scott.
Finnegan was so excited for the 4th of July celebration to begin, he woke up at 3:15 this morning. His usual modus operandi, it's never too soon for a party to start. We think it has to do with his desire to be with people he loves, and eating food.
Although, normally he does give us a little more time to sleep, with his wake-up call around 4:45 AM. Oh well, he won't be a puppy forever, so we choose to accept this temporary loss of sleep in good humor. Most days.
We are happy to report he seemed unfazed by the occasional loud booms from the neighbors shooting off fireworks last night. Tonight, when others join in the pyrotechnical displays, and it goes on for hours, we'll see how well he does.
Today is also our anniversary. Bernie and I have been married for eighteen years. We will be spending most of the day in our yard. We're building a circular rock patio for our fire-pit, and hope to get started today. We love projects.
Naturally, Finnegan will be somewhere nearby. As usual, we have much to celebrate. Happy Fourth of July to you too, however you choose to spend the day.
