BPO'S DO LEAD TO REO LISTINGS

By
Commercial Real Estate Agent with Prudential California Realty - Commercial Agent

After 5 months of doing BPO'S for 5 different companies we finally listed our first REO! BPO'S do lead to REO'S you just have to dedicate yourself to complete these BPO'S on time and tak eon as many as you can. How has everyone out there been doing? I hope we get more, my commercial sales are slow !

It really depends on who you are doing the BPOs for but yes they can lead to REO property listings.  The best part is that after you get the first few it is easier to get the rest because you have experience.

Nicole, a BPO is a "broker's price opinion". Hope this helps.

Good for you!  How many BPO's did you complete before getting this listing?  I hope you get many more and prosper as an REO agent...

Keep in mind  that it really does  depend on who you do the BPO for. Some companies are valuation

companies and are essentially an outsourcing company for BPO's.  The  asset management companies are the ones that can potentially lead to REO's.  Its tough right now because everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon. A local IndyMac rep told us they literally have thousands of people

trying to get on board with them for REO  listings. Those that established themselves a couple years ago are now in the game and highly experienced. In my opinion however many of the REO agents in our area have serious service problems!  Several do excellent jobs and will actually take or return a phone call. I think  banks need to realize that sometimes  going with the  guy who has 150 bank listings is  probably not going to get be able to really give good service

I agree with Danita---getting reo's also depends on the area as well.  or you can pay to get listed on theose sites---but for some it' s just a waste of money00I hear al ot of complaints
