Sunday Cooking day - EZ Alfredo Sauce

My wife says that cheese makes everything better!  She really likes cheese if you couldn't tell.  I am going to give you my recipe for the easiest Alfredo sauce that you have ever had (I hope).

My kids love it, my friends love it, I love it and more importantly, my wife loves it.

What's great about this is that you can mix anything with it.  I do shrimp. Some of my friends like chicken.  If you're a vegetarian, you can do that too.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter (unsalted)

1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese

1 cup half & half

1/2 cup parmesan cheese

1/2-1 Tbs of garlic powder (this is optional if you don't like garlic)

salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Melt the butter in a suacepan

2. When the butter is melted, add the cream cheese.  Cut the cream cheese up in 8 pieces so that it will melt quicker.  Make sure that you use low/medium heat.  Stir it together so that it blends.

3. After it's mixed, pour in the half & half, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder and a little pepper and stir it until it's all blended

4.  Put it on as low as you can and let it thicken while stirring it every so often.

Voila!  It's done.  Pour it over your favorite thing.

I mix my shrimp or chicken in it first and then pour it over pasta to add some extra flavor.  Salt (if you need to).

Sorry, no pics today.

If you're doing Keto, you can have this without the pasta.

Try it and let me know.

WOW... that surely sounds good... the pasta is what puts on the weight.... fat has calories but if your portions are small, you win.... have that alfredo sauce over a protein.... chicken is wonderful....

Hi Jeffrey,  Thanks for sharing this recipe for alfredo sauce.  It does sound like it would be great on chicken and broccoli.  May try that one tonight.

Morning Jeff.

Like your wife, everything tastes better with cheese.  In fact, I'm going to have some this morning with breakfast.
