With this July challenge, we are to reach out to someone (preferably not your good friend) and get to know them better. I had not even thought about looking to see what the current challenge was this month, I already had made a few calls.
Since the Activerain platform is still missing blogs/points, etc. there is still a lot of talk amongst the members, and when Brian England said he needed to check out other options for blogging, I had some options for him. Despite whether AR is having issues or not, it is best to blog on your own site first for better SEO. But, there are other options also that can and will give you good SEO.
Since Brian was one member I had not spoken to yet, it was an easy decision to pick up the phone and chat. Unfortunately (or fortunately for him) he was showing homes, but I caught him driving when his client was following him, so we had some time to chat a bit. We barely had time to chat about blogging options, so no conversation about sports, hiking, etc. OH, I did bring up the fact it was TOO hot here at 100 degrees. He said it was 125 degrees down there. UGH, cannot even imagine showing homes when it is so hot!
When I Google neighborhoods I blog about all the time, posts from 2013 and earlier show up before the ones I have been doing lately, and my web visitors are reading them, versus the current information. BUT, that was when we did have much better SEO for our posts. Nowdays I blog on 4 different sites with different targets in mind. I started thinking of this a couple years ago. Luckily, I changed web sites a few years ago, and have the ability to blog on my site, and after a year or so, my blogs were showing up in searches.
Nice chatting with you Brian, and so sorry I did not make it to Phoenix when I went to Sedona, but there is always another trip to be had! Hope you got that buyer under contract!
