I was asked not to long ago, why I put so much time into my Active Rain Blog. As it came from a local agent with too much time on her hands, I was not about to waste a reply. It was a comment on my weekly Monday local market report.
This weekend something happened that I did want to share. Many ask if there is still value to being active on Active Rain. I got a call Saturday night from an out of state agent. They had buyers show up at their open house to purchase a home in a resort town. The older couple has a home to sell back in NH though. They were not sure who to list with and the agent they were buying from said she would assist.
She knew the best place to find an agent out of state was by looking in Active Rain. A while back she actually left a comment on a blog i wrote. I thanked her and wrote a comment on one of her blogs that caught my eye. All this time later she remembered me. She went on AR and searched finding me again. She called hoping to leave a message for me to call her on Monday. However I shocked her by answering my phone at 8pm on A Saturday night.
We had a nice conversation. She asked me lots of questions. After a nice talk she said she knew I was the agent to assist these clients. As we talked, I looked her up online as he probably did me. She is a large agent working for a large national firm. I wondered why she did not use someone in that companies relocation department? I did not have to ask though as she told me as we spoke. She had mentioned how difficult it has been to close some sales. Appraisal issues. Mortgage issues and clients who want more service, more attention and actually demand it or they will find an agent who will.
I am finding similar things here in NH. That is when she told me she loved my constant mention of offering "great service" and willing to work with the client through each step of the buying or selling process. She said even her franchise is preaching speed, decrease time spent with clients and more of a reliability on technology. The problem is older buyers and sellers do not always do well with just technology, they want a real person.
IN SUMMARY, I am thank full for the opportunity Active Rain gives me. I am also thank full people read what i write. I love the real estate life and also love sharing it with others.
IN THE END: I spoke with the seller early on Sunday. They are meeting me as soon as they are back in NH and will be listing with me. They have already called 4 times. The couple was so nice and it was nice that i could ease their stress of relocating out of state.
