And Then The Phone Rang. . .
Although issues of the day on ActiveRain can cause frustration and may be out of our control, that doesn’t eliminate the constant chatter on the subject. This extends far beyond AR into many, if not all, areas of social media and in the real world.
That said, this forum is unique because we often initially meet members through their words. There can be times
when these words can become one-sided but through back-and-forth commenting, a relationship can develop.
We learn about them as well as things going on in their world. Sometimes, meetings in person can occur but
connections have been known to happen through a variety of communication methods.
I don’t remember when I first “met” Sharon Lee but I do recall the comment exchanges that have taken place here. That eventually extended to Facebook but a phone call never took place until recently. As part of the current
ActiveRain challenge, Kathy Streib and Hannah Williams are co-hosting It’s Time To Reach Out And Touch Someone Well Not Literally.
I asked Sharon if she had time and wanted to chat and she gladly accepted. Our conversation(actually plural, since it was divided into multiple parts) brought another dimension to knowing each other.
Sure, we talked about ActiveRain a bit but there were things about our own stories where some missing blanks were filled along with a chapter or two on current events as well as hopes/dreams/plans of the future. The opportunity of putting a voice with the words reminded me that while Sharon was living the South when we first “met”she is a native of upstate New York.
If you follow her, you likely know that Sharon is approaching life with a sense of adventure exploring many parts of our country(and into Canada too). She is doing this “her way”. Here’s to more adventures! Thank you, Sharon for accepting my phone call request.
