Now A Word About
Nerd Immunity. . .
Although it seems many have suddenly graduated from
medical school while never growing weary from late night study sessions or without years of residency - all in a time frame much shorter than a blink of an eye.
For the record, I am not a medical doctor nor have I claimed to be. I don’t feel the need to speak as an expert on many subjects especially one where knowledge is of paramount importance.
Although the term herd immunity seems to be in evidence in the most casual of conversation, I dare not attempt to define it.
Even the word immunity by itself which is more widely known, is still one where some additional assistance, experience and knowledge in the field is not only appreciated but should be encouraged.
That said, I was recently having a bit of a Roseanne Roseannadanna moment. Do you remember her? Her name and image occasionally surface for me while pondering.
With her matchless way of expressing herself, you may recall her as a character created by comedy great Gilda Ratner. As an “expert” she made comments on issues of the day on the television show Saturday Night Live many years ago. Often her segment ended with “never mind” as she hilariously relayed her information which had been delivered with questionable “facts”.
In much the same way, it seems medical information from many sources has gone viral. In a way at least. Yes, I have opinions on the subject but I choose to remain silent. Now, on the subject of nerds, geeks and other goofballs...we can chat but first I digress.
