Stowe, Vermont Area Home Sales Market Report - 1st Half 2020 compared to 1st Half 2019
The first half of 2020 has been an interesting period in the real estate market. We continue to deal with COVID-19 challenges (mostly April, May and June) and an unsettled country due to civil unrest. Although it has been somewhat difficult to list and show properties in Vermont because of COVID-19 requirements, the demand for homes in Vermont has certainly increased while the supply has decreased in most market areas. Added to these forces are historically low mortgage interest rates. Overall, the number of home sales have decreased, sale prices are either up or fairly stable, inventory down, and homes that are pending (under contract) have increased. Of course not all towns have seen similar trends.
