The Power of Good Stories

In our opinion, it's difficult to produce a video without having a specific goal(s) in mind. We always follow these guidelines prior to shooting any video:

1. Flesh out the purpose and plan.

2. Identify the target audience.

3. Formulate a beginning, middle, and an end.

4. Keep our brand personality in mind. ( Does this video match our brand?)

5. The video should be able to "show" (not rely on telling) the story.

When you think about it, most videos tell a story. Even if the producer doesn't realize it. And, much like listening to people talking, those without a point tend to lose their audience quickly, while those who tell good stories tend to captivate their audience.

Therefore, it's important to make sure a video tells a compelling story.

Hook the viewer early.

Build momentum with the story.

Reflect - what is the point of the story?

Finally, the point of the story should be part of the call to action.

YouTuber of the Week

This week we feature The House Kat - although, in this case, she's the Land Kat Kat Palmiotti - and we love her confidence on-camera.

We think she told her story effectively. There was a point, and a beginning, middle, and end, with a call to action.  The only thing we would add, is a stronger hook at the beginning, maybe a pan of the land, and the questions...then brief on-camera with Kat.

Be sure to subscribe to Kat's YouTube Channel and leave a like or two, and a comment.

Remember, you are welcome to share your own YouTube Channel in the comments below. And, it's always good form to return the favor when someone visits your channel and subscribes, likes a video, and/or leaves a comment.

ViewHomes™ grew out of our passion for nature, beautiful surroundings, and peaceful environments. Starting together in an urban environment, over the years we've gravitated towards areas with smaller populations and less density. We now enjoy our lifestyle in a rural environment, but with close proximity to metropolitan areas where we appreciate all the amenities of fine restaurants, shopping, and an easy drive to an international airport.
Living in ViewHomes™ is like having “elbowroom for the soul”.
