Have you hugged your children, grandchildren or parents lately?

I have been thinking about the huge disconnect between family, relatives and friends lately.  This pandemic has given rise to such distancing between human beings, touching, feeling, kissing etc.  Even seeing one's face is a bit disheartening, since we can only see the top 1/2 at best when walking around and going about.  It's disconcerting not to see that friendlysmile or even a hello and very discouraging when there are people who when they see you down the street may cross over to the other side fearing some type of personal contamination.  We should all worry about the people that do not wear any masks and especially those  that are asymptomatic, who can pass on the virus to others.   My questions for those that truly believe this whole pandemic situation is a hoax, do you really believe this is so?  What proof do you have?  Just keep watching the death rate climb everyday, that surely is no hoax!  I also beleive that the death rate is probably higher than what is actually reported too! I cannot fathom what beneficial reason this would all be fabricated.  As has been reported, when denying the facts, science and then spinning the information to those so gullible and to serve the self interests and having nothing to do with solving how to mitigate and stem the increasing infection rates throughout our country "becomes the train wreck of our country" that we are all experiencing.  In order for this sick and devasting virus to be minimized, hopefully and eventually controlled and eradicated those that do not wear masks, don't social distance and congregate with groups must begin or realize that it's not the way we can all win in this pandemic nightmare that the majority of states are experiencing. Some states like Us in NY I hope have learned our lesson and keep our numbers down; but then again all those coming here than are not quarantining themselves for 14 days may just bring our numbers back up like California, Texas and Florida! Airlines are supposed to be checking by as of Wed July 13 as per Gov. Cuomo that passengers had filled out a Covid-19 traveller form, but my friend told me on a previous Delta or American Airlines flight that forms were handed out but nor everyone was handing them in.  A $2000 fine will be levied if the form wasn't filled out or any inaccuracies were determined especially those not quarantining for 14 days, which was the main requirement.  My question is how are they properly checking and enforcing all the vehicle traffic coming in from out of state?  How is that working?  Over the near term we will all find out how that enforcement is working in relation to our infection rates here in NY.  I hope and pray to G_D that those travelling here by air and car  will respect and follow our rules so we are not subjected to this hideous and fatalities that so many of the other states are experiencing.  Eventually we will have several vaccines that will hopefully protect us from Covid-19, but maybe not 100%, but any percentage is better than what is going on right now! Everyone wear your masks, social distance (carry hand wipes or disinfectant) and disposable gloves too!

So when if you know of anyone coming to NY, tell them just do the right thing!  Lastly, when you can and feel it's safe, give a hug to your children, grandchildren, parents and grand parents even if you have to hold your breath, wearing the mask or coverings, disposable gloves and oh, by the way you can use your disinfectant wipes as one last precaution.  Have an enjoyable and stress free weekend to all Active Rain members and their families and friends!

I've hugged my bride, that's it. No parents (1,000 miles away), no kids (500 miles away), not friends or family. There's a long list of catching up here.

Well... at my end, no parents to hug... we are the oldest generation in my family. Kids and grandkids all live in different places no where near close to us... so no hugs or person to person interactions since February.

I world without hugs is not a world that I will enjoy living within.  I am still open to hugs when others also are!
