Color the Park School Supplies Drive In Charlotte's Ballantyne Corporate Park: Now Through August 14th.
The 13th annual Ballantyne Corporate Park's Color The Park School Supplies Drive, benefiting Classroom Central is underway. What's different about the 2020 School Supplies Drive? This year, the drive has gone VIRTUAL! With so many corporate offices still closed due to the pandemic, you won't be seeing donation barrels in Ballantyne Corporate Park buildings as in the past.
More than one million school supplies are needed. Every donated dollar is worth $9 of school supplies. Color The Park has set a goal of collecting $10,000 that will hopefully translate to $90,000 in supplies for Charlotte area students.
How you can donate to the 2020 Virtual Color The Park School Supplies Drive In Ballantyne.
Some 50% of Charlotte region's students live in poverty and 1 in 2 students in our region lack the most basic of school supplies. Classroom Central serves over 127,000 students and their teachers across 6 school districts in 198 high-need/high poverty schools. Their mission is to equip students to effectively learn by collecting and distributing free school supplies. Classroom Central is the primary resource for school supplies for students in need. And over 85,000 students receive supplies each year. And even with remote learning this fall, students still are in need of supplies.
