YouTube Thursdays - Lesson Learned

Today, we take a break from our usual YouTube Thursday format to share a precarious ( and humorous) moment from our summer time activities. Fortunately, we are all still laughing about it. Even Bernie, he knows it's good to laugh at ourselves.

Like many people we’ve been using our free time to take care of projects around our home.  A few weeks ago, we decided to revamp our fire pit area and create a more aesthetically pleasing space. Since large boulders needed to be moved as well as some leveling, Bernie, and my brother-in-law, Bob, rented a little bobcat. Perhaps a bit too small for the task.

Neither have had much experience using this type of equipment and I’m glad I didn’t  witness this little mishap. You can hear Bob in the background, and my sister laughing.  Since nobody got hurt, I’m happy my brother-in-law caught this on video. Although, you can see when things got a bit dicey, his concentration was less on the camera work and more on the situation at hand.

Lesson learned! Next time, we are renting a bit larger bobcat.  We both hope your summer projects are satisfying and free of precarious moments.

ViewHomes™ grew out of our passion for nature, beautiful surroundings, and peaceful environments. Starting together in an urban environment, over the years we've gravitated towards areas with smaller populations and less density. We now enjoy our lifestyle in a rural environment, but with close proximity to metropolitan areas where we appreciate all the amenities of fine restaurants, shopping, and an easy drive to an international airport.
Living in ViewHomes™ is like having “elbowroom for the soul”.

Debb, that could have ended a lot differently for sure!   It is fun accomplishing stuff around the house when business is slower.

I've never seen that piece of equipment before.  It looks rather dicey and precarious.  Glad the guy wasn't hurt!

Oh my gosh... just too, too funny, Debb. Of course, being the cat lover that I am, I thought I'd be seeing a video with a feline bobcat!

Hello Debb & Bernie,  this is funny only because he was not hurt. Your title drew me in.  Bobcat Tipping.  The first thing that came to my mind was ... is this anything like cow tipping?  If so, how on earth .... you know where my mind went from there.

Hi Debb and Bernie:

Glad it all worked out, but I do admit it to a chuckle.Could have turned out differently I suppose. I have to say I was thinking this was about a real bobcat, and it made me think of the urban legend ofcow tipping! LOL

Debb-I am glad to know nobody got hurt, love the music, surprised that wasn't a thankful email unless it got missed in space with little or no signal for 2 weeks and lastly I have never seen a bobcat that small. Bigger is better in certain cases.

Like Sherri Sperry, I thought first about cow tipping, and wondered if you'd had an adventure with wildlife.

Good thing he was going really slow!
