8 Pound Rats Roaming the Neighborhood
It's Friday Fun Day and Almost August 1st. Can you believe it's August already. Christmas is just around the corner. But..... let's get back to the BIG RAT....
Yesterday I just happened to see a BIG RAT in our backyard. Oh great now we need to get the rat patrol guy back here to set up a rat trap. Not really a big deal. And it's better to nip this problem quickly before the rat family grows. In 23+ years this is only the 2nd time we've seen a rat in our yard.
Gary decided to text our next door neighbor, Chris, to alert him about the BIG RAT sighting. The two guys text back and forth a bit and then said good night. They've never texted before but rather talk in their respective workshops/garages! These two are 'project' buddies.
Then I thought, why not have a little fun with Chris! Hey Gary what's Chris's number?
I text Chris and say - This is Anna - Hey - did Gary mention how big the rat was? 6 to 8 lbs.
Chris - OMG no he didn't!
Anna - LOL
Chris -You're killing me!
Anna- A few laughs along the way is a good thing! Can you imagine 8lb rats running around the hood? Target Practice!
Chris -We need any laugh we can get at this point. That freaked me out!! That's the kind of rat you only see in movies!
Anna - Exactly! You probably didn't realize I am a comedian.
Chris - I can't wait for the clubs to open again so I can go see your act. You had us rolling in laughter over here!
Anna - show goes on all day with me! Comedy came to me honestly, my Mom was so darn funny!!
Chris - Thanks for making our night!!!
Anna - My pleasure! We all need a lot more levity these days!!!
Jump to the this morning....
Chris - I think I spotted that 8 lb rat in my back yard this morning. And he sends a picture of a big bunny!!
Anna - Haha - good one! We do have an itty bitty runt bunny in our back yard for the last few months. He's getting bigger, thankfully.
Chris - I had one last year that dug out an area in a shady area so he could lay down. He was there most of the summer. I'd rather a bunny than a rat!
Anna - Our little bunny hangs out by the block wall by you guys. He's made friends with the little birds. Every time he see the birds come out to eat, he joins them. They're like a little family! This goes on multiple times a day and who knows could be more! We figure when he's ready, he'll move out and find a new family. Could be your yard next! Raising rabbits - your new career!
Chris - I'll take it!
Anna - You're hired!
MORAL of the story? Share a little levity every day! And notice how people are thankful to just laugh and have a little fun a long the way. We all need it! Especially Now!
