Today is mom's birthday. We are always happy to see our pink Mimosa tree put on a show for her.
August is about the only month of the year that I'm (Debb) a fan of this particular tree.
Also known as Persian Silk Trees, this is NOT a native of the Pacific Northwest. In fact, in the south, they grow like weeds. It's also a messy tree, and drops leaves and pods like crazy.
Ah, but in August it comes to life with airy pink blossoms. So today, in honor of mom, I will choose to drink in the beauty of the mimosa blossoms.
