Junque Drawer - A Face Mask To Match Any Outfit

Real Estate Agent with Diamond Partners Inc 00244377

I happened across this fun little gift shop in Olathe, KS a few years ago and over the course of time I've bought more gifts for myself than for all others. It's a little out of my way and currently a rather ridiculous road construction project has closed down a portion of a major nearby route, so getting there is a little frustrating but so worth the trip.

They do such a good job enticing me on Facebook with all the fun pandemic related things. I like to handle the worst of situations with humor so I just couldn't resist the t-shirt I saw featured, maybe because my back porch and yard has gotten more use than ever this year, and it totally summarizes the beach and palm tree vacation to Mexico I had to forgo this year.

And, there is also the other T-shirt that stands out, it describes another activity many of my younger neighbors do more openly now, as they Social Distance while sitting in lawn chairs in their driveways. I don't judge, I live vicariously through them (and while I'm in the back usually, I'm sometimes porch drinking)

At the Junque Drawer you can also find one of the largest assortment of face masks for children and adults. I've purchased these for ourselves, and grandkids too. Solid, ty-dye, graphics, sports themed. Some have special themes and are rather fun. My grandson got a dinosaur mask but Spider-Man was a close second choice. We chose a Sportimg KC one for the soccer player granddaughter, and the girly granddaughter got a floral one. I personally couldn't decide for myself, so I purchased a leopard print, a solid one and a Chiefs logo - all are reversible and the assortment matches many of my summer outfits.

And, I like the graphic cap, perfect to hide my pandemic DIY haircut!

Pandemic Hair - Don't Care

The Junque Drawer is located at 233 S. Cherry Street, in what appears to be a circa 1920s built two story Victorian, unique to Olathe architecture. There are two floors packed full of unique merchandise to mesmerize and intrigue. There is a massive selection of handcrafted jewelry, quirky message dish towels and coffee mugs, Kansas City themed tshirts, home decor, toys, books, cards ...to name only a few of the fun things that can be found here.

Jane is such a sweet lady, she owns the shop and works side by side with her daughter. They have an obvious sense of humor when it comes to selecting the products and that's what makes this place so much fun to shop at! Don't forget to support small local businesses!

The best one that I have seen is the artist that printed your picture from the nose down to show your complete face.

I have an old silk Chanel scarf that has been, shall we say nibbled"?  I should have put lavendar in the box where I stored it.  Well, it's going to make a marvelous few masks, one for me a couple for friends!
