Thanks for your candor!
I have spoken with several folks over the last few months about home financing. Quite a few of them contacted me because they have seen advertisements that interest rates are at all time lows. Some of them tell me the rates they are seeing and ask if it is really true, most are expecting there is a catch. The lowest rates advertised could come with a catch if one interprets it as there is no cost to get the rates advertised
Rates really are at an all time low. It is amazing actually. But that does not mean refinancing a home loan is the best idea for everyone. What is supremely helpful is to talk to a loan originator who explains all the pros and cons of shorter terms, lower rates, loan amounts, loan to value, etc so an educated decision can be made.
Several times over the last few months I have heard "thanks for your candor". I'm hearing that because I lay out all the options, I'm transparent about the costs and benefits. Some of the loans I've put into my pipeline because my candor helps with the decision. Some of the loans my candor points out the home owner may be better off just where they are. In all cases I love hearing "thanks for your candor".
Every borrower has their own reasons for financing a home mortgage. Some want to save money, some want to pay off a loan faster, some need cash. What may be not the best idea for one borrower may be an excellent move for another. My job is to use candor in conversations about refinancing and rates.
