So far this year, I have been able to help two families that immigrated here to buy their first homes in America. One family was from China (studying in the medical field), and the other multi-generational family was from Bhutan and Nepal. Both families had lived in the USA for several years and rented apartments, and both were ready to purchase a home to settle down here and begin to grow roots.
They all spoke English very well, despite the fact that it was their second or third language that they spoke, but communication did require a great deal of patience for both of us. Both were very excited to close on their houses and move to their more settled location. I was honored to help each.
This is what makes America great, I believe. It is the fact that we are still a melting pot of nationalities coming here from around the world to explore opportunities here in the USA, and to add value to our country. As Lin-Manuel Miranda says in Hamilton, "Immigrants, we get the job done!"
