Hi Roy.... I'm sure the animal shelters across the country are filled with pets to adopt.... people are having a difficult time feeding themselves.... I'm sure many have had to surrender their pets...

Hi Roy Kelley - I am sure there are plenty of animals waiting to be adopted since the shelters have been closed.

Hello Roy - it seems one of the benefits of the stay-at-home order in many communities is that animal shelters have benefited from an increase in pet adoptions.  I hope this is true in Montgomery County Maryland with their event and with the other incentives they are offering.

Events like this are great Roy Kelley and if our local shelter ever had one I may be enticed to adopt a new friend. Regretfully it's all about making a buck at the Souris Valley Animal Shelter in Minot ND.

Great program but a lot of restrictions. They just had a Clear the Shelter in Vegas and emptied out the place. The only downside is since it's one person at at time by appointment only and you can only see one animal per day, getting that coveted first appointment has become almost impossible. Unless you're the first appointment of the day, you likely will not be coming home with an animal. If the dog you signed up to see is adopted by the first appointment of the day, you need to wait until the next day before you can try again for a different animal. Once again, you need to be the first appointment of the day or the situation repeats itself. At least, this is what has been happening to my family members and now August has ended.
