Ready for some Hobo Stew.
Will Hamm always has such great recipes for us to enjoy! I feel like a hobo at times so this recipe is right up my alley!
We are in for a high of 93 degree today. I am helping a young couple what you can use a crock pot and do some meals that do not cost that must. I remember a friend who use to ride the rails in a rough time that some hobo would make this stew. Reminds me of the soilder that made stone soup and started with a stone and water and got people in the area to give him some carrots and toke it from there to make a great soup.Well he is a Hobo Stew (the couple are both employee right now)
16 ounces extra lean ground ground turkey or beef
1 cup diced onion
2 cups diced celery
2 cups diced carrots
3 cup diced raw potatoes
1 can Healthy Request Cream Muchroom Soup
1 can Healty Tomato Soup
1/3 hot water
2 teaspoon dried parley flakes
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
In a large skillet with butter flavored cooking spray, brown meat. Spay a slow cooker container with butter flavored cooking spray. Place browned meat in slow cooker, add onion, celery carrots and potatoes. Mix well to combine, in a medium bowl, combine both soups, water, parsley flakes and black pepper. Spoon mixture evenly over the top. Mix well to combine. Cover and cook to low for 6 to 8 hours. Mix well before serving.
Serves 6 people.
